I would like to thank Paul from Somerset for sending these fantastic photos of some of his lure collection. The first photo is showing one of Paul’s impressive oak chest that he keeps his lure collection in. The chest is called the Gerstner and can be purchased from the link below.
I have known Paul for some time now our passion for collecting lures brought us together and I would like to think we have become very good friends.

A fellow collector and a good fishing buddy of mine, is a passionate collector of Hardy reels that are much sort after. With the line guard ring incorporated in them all, they are fantastic examples. I would like to thank him for allowing me to display some of his collection on my web site for everyone to enjoy.

This is a very rare reel indeed The Hardy “BARTON” DRY FLY REEL catalogued by Hardy from 1935 till 1945 it is believed there were only 109 ever made, I suspect there will be quite a lot that have not survived to the present day. This particular reel is even rarer with its deep arbour as opposed to the standard mid arbour, it is believed to be the only known example. See photo cb107 for more detail from Hardy’s catalogues explaining the thinking behind the distinctive difference to the regular Hardy dry fly reels of the time. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the British collector for sharing this very rare reel with us all.
